Two things led our week: we launched an official K-Dense account on Reddit, and it was a busy stretch for open-source releases – a new microbiome skill, our first drug-discovery skills plugin, a Multica tutorial from our CTO, and more below.

We launched our official company Reddit account, /u/-k-dense-, this week and look forward to engaging in the AI for science discourse there. We’ve kicked off the launch with a series of short videos demoing our open-source BYOK (bring-your-own-key) platform.

A busy week across our open-source projects:

•A new Waypoint microbiome skill. We added a new scientific agent skill for Waypoint, an open-source foundation model for the microbiome from the self-proclaimed poop scientists over at Outpost Bio.
•A Multica tutorial from our CTO. K-Dense CTO Timothy Kassis wrote up a tutorial for using Multica for scientific research. If you’re into DIY agents, this one is for you.
•Drug Discovery Agent Skills. The team launched our first agent skills plugin for small molecule and protein therapeutics. The Drug Discovery Agent Skills repo is compatible with Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and more.

Drug Discovery Agent Skills: 37 skills spanning databases & retrieval, cheminformatics, structure & simulation, molecular ML, biologics, target discovery, and more – compatible with Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex.

•lab-hardware-cad for the wet lab. Our new lab-hardware-cad skill meaningfully boosts design fidelity across 7 test cases, including a cuvette holder, 30mm cage plate, and mouse Y-maze.
•Live BYOK tutorial, August 25. We’re hosting a tutorial on K-Dense BYOK next week on Tuesday, August 25 at 2PM PST, with time at the end for a live Q&A on open source science. Register to save your spot →

Two upgrades landed in K-Dense Web this week:

•Quicker, cheaper runs. We upgraded the model powering select subagents, which should mean faster and more affordable runs for you.
•Sessions that keep their history. We shipped bug fixes so long-running and multi-turn sessions hold their history properly.
