K-Dense Web Updates

// Jan 23, 2026

Welcome back. Another week of exciting updates and tips to help you get the most out of K-Dense Web. Let's dive in!

>What's New

We've been hard at work delivering meaningful updates driven by user feedback:

  • We're excited to introduce MCP support, enabling you to bring your own remotely hosted servers that work directly with your AI workflows. MCP servers can securely access your internal systems, execute custom logic, expose tools and APIs, orchestrate workflows, and integrate with third-party services. This allows deeper customization, stronger security boundaries, real-time actions, and tighter alignment with your existing infrastructure.
  • You are now required to select an effort level before proceeding, ensuring the chosen level matches the task requirements rather than relying on a default.
  • When creating a new session, get started quickly with ready-to-use example prompts. As sessions are added within a project, example prompts automatically become tailored to the specific project context.

>Blog: K-Dense Drives Discovery for Novel Research Topics

One of the most daunting challenges facing researchers isn't conducting experiments or analyzing data. It's figuring out what to study in the first place.

In this week's blog, we take a look at K-Dense's approach to revealing research gaps in the frontier field of "soft robotics," or biologically-inspired actuation.

Check out the full write-up on our blog.

>Use Case of the Week

Calling all history nerds!

Our team member Brian Laffin used K-Dense to unravel the legend of The Flying Dutchman and decode what parts of the story are rooted in reality and what remains a myth.

The paper breaks down the origin of the story, feasibility given maritime technology and navigation methods of the time period, and the impact of the legend on modern culture.

See how K-Dense was prompted here and read the final output here.
